An investigative report found that G4S has hired employees who have been accused of sex crimes, despite their troubling pasts. A G4S Youth Specialist employed at the Palmetto Youth Academy was arrested for sexually assaulting two boys, a 15 year-old and 17 year-old, while working at the facility. Court records show that the employee was on probation for felony habitual driving with out an license and contempt of court when he was hired by G4S.
Another employee accused of having sexual relations with a teenage boy had reportedly been fired from the Florida Department of Corrections for having an inappropriate relationship with an inmate.
While the company claims to screen all applicants, the report raises serious questions as to whether G4S conducts adequate background checks.
